EPI Courses - Advanced Program
Advanced Program in International Protective Operations on a Caribbean Cruise
DATE: TBA
The scenario-based training will use a state-of-the-art, luxury cruise ship as the base of operations for classroom presentations and as a launching point for advances and protective operations at various ports of call.
During the days at sea students will receive presentations on Working in Foreign Countries, Conducting Advances, Risk/Threat Assessment, Ethics, Protective Formations, Motorcade Operations, Defensive Tactics, Countering Assaults on Principals, etc. The on-board exercises will include numerous practical exercises involving advances, “walking the principal”, low profile coverage, etc.
The field scenarios will include visits to various locations involving team movements and formations ranging from one to five protective agents.
Also, students will receive hands-on experience involving motorcades, from using taxis and directing drivers (for whom English is not their primary language) in Mexico to details utilizing rental cars in Grand Cayman, where students must drive on the left.
This advanced program is designed for graduates of recognized schools and others trained or experienced in protective operations. Candidates who are not graduates of EPI, ESI or other recognized schools but have real world EP experience, such as law enforcement or military, will be evaluated on an individual basis.
Those students wishing to bring a spouse, guest or significant other to share the stateroom are encouraged to do so at a reduced price. They also will receive a special two-hour presentation explaining some of the stresses involved in EP details, and how to cope and offer support to their loved ones.
