Randall V. Biglow
President

Randy Biglow comes to us with approximately 20 years experience in the security industry. Mr. Biglow has held positions in the field such as Senior Director Operations, Western States at IPSA International, where he was responsible for all protection functions, including workplace violence response, executive protection and crisis management. Additional duties included the development and oversight of IPSA International’s Executive Protection Academy. Subsequent to his time at IPSA, Mr. Biglow was employed as an Associate Director with Kroll, focusing much of his time on protection related projects, development of estate protection programs and management of Executive Protection teams. Mr. Biglow left Kroll and created Protection Design, Inc., focusing his skills on high net worth clients and their needs with respect to family safety and executive protection programs. He now works exclusively with high-profile and wealthy families, developing Family Safety Programs and Executive Protection Programs with an emphasis on Estate Security Design. Mr. Biglow is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute, a member of the Nine Lives Associates, a member of the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers and a Certified Security Trainer (C.S.T.) through the Academy.

Patrick Boyle
Personal Protection Specialist

Patrick Boyle has served as an Officer with the Supreme Court of the United States Police. During his career he was responsible for providing personal protection to the Justices and served as a member of the Threat Assessment Unit and the Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Incident Response Team. Mr. Boyle has also provided protective services for diplomatic families in the metropolitan Washington D.C. area. Mr. Boyle is a graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and the Executive Protection Institute. He is certified as a Firearms Instructor by the NRA Law Enforcement Division and Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services. Mr. Boyle holds a Bachelor Arts from the University of Montana and he is currently pursuing a Masters of Education at George Mason University.

Thomas A. Bradshaw
Virginia State Police - Executive Protective Unit

Sergeant Thomas Bradshaw is the Lieutenant Commander and the Executive Officer of the Executive Protective Unit for the Office of the Governor. He has more than 20 years service with the Department of State Police and was also a Suffolk Virginia police officer for seven years. He was the former Intelligence Officer for threat assessments and the Medical Officer for the protective detail. Sergeant Bradshaw’s background includes 16 years of Emergency Medical Services and he is currently a National Registered Emergency Medical Technician - Tactical. He is a graduate of the United States Secret Service Protective Operations and U.S. Department of State Diplomatic Security Service Academies. He served for 7 years with the Virginia State Police Elite Anti-Terrorism Tactical/SWAT Team. He has vast experience with high-profile events such as Governor’s and Presidential inaugurations. Sergeant Bradshaw also has advanced and provided protection on numerous trade missions worldwide, working closely with the U.S. Embassy and foreign authorities. Sergeant Bradshaw is a certified Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services General Instructor and an Emergency Vehicle Operator Instructor. He has provided training as a Lead Instructor on behalf of the Virginia State Police to various local, state, and federal agencies on the topic of dignitary protection. Sergeant Bradshaw is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute, a member of the Nine Lives Associates and the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers.

Lowell (Sonny) Burmasterl

Sonny Burmaster has worked as a personal protection agent for more than 30 years. He is Chief of Staff for the Jefferson Parish Council, where he is responsible for the security of the 7 elected officials who govern Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. In addition to providing personal protection services to each council member, he also is responsible for the protection and security of the Council government offices and staff. Mr. Burmaster serves as the Chief of Security for the Endymion Mardi Gras Parade in New Orleans, which is the largest parade of the season. Mr. Burmaster is the Commander of the Gretna Police Department Reserve Division. He has been involved in law enforcement for the past 20 years. He is a certified instructor in PPCT (Pressure Point Control Tactics), Defensive Tactics, straight stick, expandable baton, and the PR-24 (Police Side Handle Baton). Mr. Burmaster is on the State Executive Board of the Louisiana Association of Reserve Peace Officers. He is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute, a member of the Nine Lives Associates, the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers; and recipient of the Katrina Meritorious Service Medal.

Anthony H. Christiana, Jr.

Major Anthony Christiana has more than 2 decades of law enforcement experience, and currently serves as a Commander of Operations in the Gretna Police Department. He instructs on a variety of police topics for academy and college programs, and has attended D.E.A., F.B.I., and I.A.C.P. training classes. In 1988, Major Christiana was commissioned by the U.S. Department of Justice to serve as a Treasury Agent for the U.S. Customs Service - Blue Lightening Strike Force. He was the project director of the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement’s Municipal Drug Task Force, and worked as an undercover detective in the Southeast District of Louisiana, Organized Crime Division, Department of Justice. Major Christiana was selected to serve on a peer review committee for the National Institute of Justice, Justice Department, Washington, DC, and is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville. Major Christiana’s security accomplishments include working as a consultant to Louisiana Power and Light, Entergy Corporation, and a host of oil industry corporations. His personal protection assignments have included a variety of business clients and entertainers. He directed protection assignments for more than 30 corporations during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah, the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece and the 2005 Winter Olympics in Italy. Major Christiana’s specialty includes the coordination and implementation of personal protection teams for major events such as Super Bowls, Mardi Gras in New Orleans, LA, the Annual Gretna Heritage Festival, corporate meetings, and high-profile celebrity tours on an international level. Major Christiana is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute and the Director of Operations for the Institute. He is a member of the Nine Lives Associates and recipient of the Katrina Meritorious Service Medal. Major Christiana is a member of the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers and serves as the Vice-President for Training with the Academy and a Certified Security Trainer (C.S.T.) through the Academy.

Paul R. Collis

Paul Collis manages his own Personal Protection and Security Consulting Corporation. His duties for the past 15 years have included intelligence management, estate security, and on various high-risk international assignments as a personal protection specialist. Mr. Collis was the Team Leader providing personal protection and serving as the Operations Commander for a Diplomatic Protection Team for the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Additional duties included domestic and international advances, coordination and interaction with various high-level diplomatic and government protection details. Mr. Collis served 16 years in the Royal Marines Commandos, with 12 of those years assigned to the Special Boat Service, specializing in counter terrorism. He culminated his military career with four years on a high-profile VIP Protection detail. Dr. H.H.A. Cooper

Dr. H.H.A. Cooper is an internationally known authority on matters of security and intelligence. He served as the Staff Director of the U.S. Task Force National Advisory Committee on Disorders and Terrorism, and was a Special Consultant to the National Wiretapping Commission. He is an Attorney and Professor of Law and is a Consultant to several major international corporations. Dr. Cooper served with the Special Investigations Branch of the Royal Military Police and with Her Majesty’s Civil Service. He has been the Chairman of the Non-Governmental Advisory Group before the United Nations Alliance for the Control and Prevention of Crime. Dr. Cooper is presently on the faculty of the School of Law, University of Texas at Dallas. Dr. Cooper speaks Spanish, Italian and French and has some fluency in Arabic, Portuguese and Russian. He is the author of numerous journal and magazine articles, monographs and text on a wide variety of security issues. Dr. Cooper has published several books on intelligence, spies and assassinations. He is frequently seen on network television in the U.S. and Canada and appears on radio talk shows with respect to major incidents of violence, security issues and business intelligence topics.

Jason M. DiMarco

Jason M. DiMarco has been a law enforcement officer since 1996. He is a graduate of several law enforcement training programs and he is currently pursuing a pre-law degree at Holy Cross College in New Orleans. Detective DiMarco’s firearms certifications include: Patrol Rifle Instructor Course of the N.R.A., Firearms Instructor Development Program and Instructor Certification Course of the Louisiana Peace Officer Standards and Training Council. He is certified as a MP5 and M4 instructor through Singleton International. Detective DiMarco is a recipient of a Medal of Valor and Medal of Commendation from the Gretna Police Department. Detective DiMarco is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute, a member of the Nine Lives Associates, the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers; and recipient of the Katrina Meritorious Service Medal.

Eugene R. Ferrara

Gene Ferrara has worked for the University of Cincinnati since 1978, and now directs their public law enforcement agency responsible for all medical center and campus security operations and criminal investigations. His prior service included 17 years with the Cincinnati Police Department as a cadet, patrolman, police specialist, sergeant of police, and assistant director of the Cincinnati/Hamilton County Police Academy. His instructional expertise includes firearms, operational planning, officer survival techniques, and Executive/VIP Protection. Chief Ferrara organized, coordinated, and personally participated in training programs throughout the nation on a wide variety of police and security issues. He also has trained personal protection teams in Europe and South Africa. Chief Ferrara holds a B.S. degree in police administration and a M.Ed. degree in training and personnel development from Xavier University, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He worked on-site in security operations for NBC during the Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain, Atlanta, Georgia, Salt Lake City, Utah and Sydney, Australia. Dr. Arthur B. Fulton

Dr. Art Fulton is formerly a professor of law and criminal justice at a local college. He served for more than 23 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in a variety of positions and retired as an Inspector and Deputy Assistant Director. Dr. Fulton is an attorney and a graduate of several senior-level executive and management programs, including The FBI Senior Executive Seminar, The U.S. Army Military Intelligence Course, and the Department of Defense Computer Institute. He graduated with “distinction” from the Senior Seminar in Foreign Policy of the U.S. Department of State. Dr. Fulton is the author of the monograph entitled: Counter-measures to Combat Terrorism at Major Events, utilized as a guideline for Olympic events conducted in the U.S. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and is a member of the Washington, D.C. Bar. Dr. Fulton is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute, a member of the Nine Lives Associates and the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers.

Juan Diego Gonzalez

During his 26-year Army career, Mr. Gonzalez received training in the United States Army Special Forces on communications, weapons, demolitions, counter-terrorism, operations and intelligence. He was a master parachutist, sniper, and Special Forces Divemaster, and Combat Engineer. He developed the Strategic Target Analysis course for the Special Forces Officer Detachment qualification, and implemented counter-terrorism and presidential protection programs in Honduras, El Salvador, and the Dominican Republic. He was an original member of the first counter-terrorism force for the United States. Mr. Gonzalez is certified as an instructor from the School of the Americas and in the forensic application of Strategic Content Analysis (SCAN). He is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute, a Certified Security Trainer (C.S.T.), and a member of Nine Lives Associates and the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers.

Jerry Heying

Jerry Heying has more than 28 years of security and personal protection experience. Beginning in 1977, Mr. Heying managed a security department of a high-rise building and entertainment facility that was active with international dignitaries and celebrities. He was a team member of a large personal protection team for a private family for more than 8 years. In l989, Mr. Heying founded the International Protective Service Agency; a New York State licensed security and investigation company that specializes in special event security and personal protection. He was also a Sergeant with the New York City Auxiliary Police Department at Midtown South for 8 years. Mr. Heying has worked protective assignments for private families, businessmen, religious leaders and celebrities on a worldwide basis, working in more than 24 countries. Mr. Heying obtained his Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), is a NRA, Glock, and New York State Certified Security Firearms Instructor and has attended numerous law enforcement and security training courses. Mr. Heying is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute, a member of the Nine Lives Associates, a member of the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers and serves on the Board of Directors for the Academy.

William N. Horn

Investigator Bill Horn has more than 30 years of law enforcement experience. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Law Enforcement Academy and worked with the 3750th Security Police Squadron as patrolman, correctional officer and arms room attendant. From 1982 to 1985, he was the Town Sergeant and then the Chief Law Enforcement Officer of the Middletown, Virginia Police Department. Investigator Horn served as Captain of Administrative Services with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office in Winchester, Virginia and as a Security Officer with the Department of Homeland Security. Investigator Horn is a certified Firearms Instructor with theVirginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, specializing in shotgun applications. He is a certified Instructor/Trainer in Health and Safety with the American Red Cross, specializing in Emergency Medicine applications. Investigator Horn is a graduate of the Central Shenandoah Criminal Justice Training Academy. He has an Associates Degree in Art and Sciences from Lord Fairfax Community College and is currently pursuing educational goals at the West Virginia University, Davis School of Forestry. Beth Kalyan

Beth Kalyan has a vast security and executive protection career with diverse private and public sector experience. She provides personal protection services to a variety of clients, as well as surveillance, counter-surveillance and investigative services. Her assignments have included protection of corporate officers, public officials and Miss America. Ms. Kalyan is an instructor in several security disciplines, including firearms and driving. Ms. Kalyan presently manages her own tactical clothing and equipment company, where she has built a client base through quality service and delivery. She previously worked as a Sales Associate, where she marketed and sold firearms to police officers, security personnel and individuals. She is a sworn law enforcement officer for Washington, DC (Reserve), and is also a sworn Court Appointed Special Advocate in Fairfax County, Virginia. She recently served as Reserve Officer, Gretna, LA, during Hurricane Katrina Relief efforts. Ms. Kalyan is certified as a NRA Handgun Instructor. She is also a certified Police and Security Driver, Survival Force and Expandable Baton and OC Aerosol Instructor. Jennifer Knaff is a Personal Protection Specialist based in the Washington, D.C. area with over 15 years of experience in the field. Her work has included being a sworn peace officer in the state of California, workplace/domestic violence and stalker prevention, worldwide protection of corporate CEOs, celebrities, politicians, foreign dignitaries, museum-quality jewelry and artwork, and other high-profile persons and events. In addition, Ms. Knaff has experience in threat and risk assessment, investigations, and standing a post in many, many hallways, elevator lobbies and parking lots. Candice M. Kobetz

Candice Kobetz has worked as an office manager and assistant to the director of the Executive Protection Institute since its beginning in 1978. She currently assists on special projects, and coordinates the hospitality concerns for the Institute’s training programs. Ms. Kobetz has worked numerous personal protection details and in the summer of 1996, worked with the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games as a security officer at the International Horse Park in Conyers, Georgia. She is nationally-certified as a horseback riding instructor and a paralegal. Ms. Kobetz also manages her own clothing and equestrian equipment distribution business. An avid photographer, her photographs are often seen in company publications. Ms. Kobetz has a B.A. in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute, a member of the Nine Lives Associates and the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers.

Professor John I. Kostanoski

Professor John Kostanoski is the Chair of the Bachelor of Science Degree Program in Security Systems at Farmingdale State University of New York. He has served as a Technical Consultant to the National Institute of Justice and is editor of the Journal of Applied Security Research, a peer-reviewed academic Journal that is published quarterly. He is a frequent lecturer to security personnel and corporate executives on security technology matters and has been involved for several years with engineering authorities in the development of high technology protection systems. His most recent contribution has been in the blending of quality equipment with innovative techniques of design to offer portability-plus protection systems. He also serves as an instructor at the Executive Protection Institute on investigative and personal protection technology and as a consultant on security technology surveys. Professor Kostanoski has received a certificate in classification management from the Department of Defense, Defense Industrial Security Institute, Richmond, Virginia; and has completed the Cisco Certified Network Associate training program. He holds a BS and an MA degree, both in Criminal Justice, from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York. He is the co-author of the text: Security & Loss Control, Macmillan Publishing Company, 1983 and Introduction to Security and Loss Control, Prentice Hall, 1990. Professor Kostanoski is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute and a member of the Nine Lives Associates. He a member of the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers serving as Executive Vice President. Professor Kostanoski is a Certified Security Trainer (C.S.T.) through the Academy.

Ronald Lizotte

Ronald Lizotte served 26 years with the Central Intelligence Agency and retired as a Senior Security Officer. His service included Assistant Special Agent-in-Charge of the Miami Field office and 14 years serving with para-military operations in Latin America, Africa, the Balkans, Europe and Southwest Asia. He taught and provided personal protection and served as advisor to senior government officials. Ron is a polygraph operator and instructor in S.W.A.T. operations, interrogation, investigations, and weaponry. He served in Vietnam and was an undercover Narcotics Detective and Hostage Negotiator with the Baltimore Police Department.

Mary E. Luber

Mary Luber assists Dr. Kobetz with administrative and logistical project planning and execution. Prior to coming to the Institute, she had an extensive career as an audiovisual specialist, project manager and contracting officer. For over 20 years, Ms. Luber produced and directed video productions internationally and throughout the United States. For the US Navy, she frequently worked with foreign governments and high profile military and civilian personnel. With the Office of Inspector General, US Postal Service, Ms. Luber managed all audiovisual projects including the management and oversight of large multi-facet audiovisual contracts for conferences, conventions and seminars. She was the administrator for Inspector General Conferences and nation-wide Postal teleconferences. For several years Ms. Luber produced a daily Postal Service electronic newsletter. With the US Army, Ms. Luber served as a project manager and Government Contracting Officer. She is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute and a member of the Nine Lives Associates. Ms. Luber is a member of the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers and serves as Secretary/Treasurer for the Academy.

Alan E. Minnick

Mr. Minnick formerly served as Director of Training at BSR, Inc., which provides driver training for highway safety and counter terrorism to private, government and military clients in Summit Point, West Virginia. Prior to his position at BSR, Mr. Minnick served as assistant director of the Central Shenandoah Criminal Justice Training Academy, a regional facility providing entry-level, in-service, and specialized training to municipal police, sheriff’s deputies, jail officers, and 911 operators. Mr. Minnick is a veteran police officer with 10 years of service in Waynesboro, Virginia, and also served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Minnick is certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Criminal Justice Services as a general instructor in teaching all facets of criminal justice, and additionally certified to teach defensive tactics, firearms courses, and driving. He is a graduate of the Scotti School of Defensive Driving, and also on the faculty of Blue Ridge Community College. He is a certified chemical agents instructor, ASP instructor, special operations instructor, and Smith & Wesson semi-auto armorer. Mr. Minnick is a member and on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers, a member of the American Criminal Justice Association, the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors, and the N.L.A. He has an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the Blue Ridge Community College, and attended James Madison University. Mr. Minnick recently served as Reserve Officer, Gretna, LA, during Hurricane Katrina Relief efforts.

David R. Musser

Dave Musser is well known in his industry for his diverse knowledge of computers and logistical and organizational skills. He is a highly accomplished Systems Architect, Web Developer and Project Manager. He has a lengthy background in creating and implementing major technical solutions for corporate and government clients. Mr. Musser’s history includes work as a computer analyst, private investigator and photographer. Mr. Musser is currently working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, implementing and managing FEMA’s web content, and keeping in-depth projects on schedule and on budget. At Interwoven, Inc., he was the consulting manager for more than 50 clients. He directed software implementation and solutions architecture from inception to completion. Mr. Musser staffed, trained and led up to 10 consulting personnel per project and provided internal and external product training courses. Mr. Musser has negotiated major contracts, provided quality assurance; forecasting and project status reports for top executives. He performs system integration and high-level programming and creates and manages web indicatives using HTML and Java technologies. Mr. Musser holds an Associate of Applied Science, Electronics from the Lord Fairfax Community College and is currently enrolled in Ashington’s MBA in Management program. He is a Certified Microsoft Systems Engineer and Internet (MCSE + 1), and holds an Interwoven Certification. John F. Musser

John Musser is an experienced professional with years of providing continuous service to a large variety of clients. He provides risk analysis, threat assessment, and protection for internationally known celebrities, business leaders, world-renowned statesmen, and financiers on a world-wide basis. Mr. Musser specializes in superbly detailed advances, and has performed countless domestic advances and hundreds of international advances. He routinely directs and manages security operations for events with participants numbering in the thousands. Mr. Musser is an accomplished martial artist, with more than 2 decades of practice in several different disciplines. He is also a freelance consultant and instructor. Mr. Musser has worked with several government agencies including Homeland Security. Mr. Musser’s background includes experience as a police officer and a defensive tactics instructor. He holds a San Dan Black Belt (third degree), an AA degree from Northern Virginia Community College, and he is a graduate of the Central Shenandoah Criminal Justice Training Center. He has attended numerous defensive driving and advanced firearms training programs. Mildred O’Lynn

Ms. O’Lynn has a background in police training and defensive tactics. She serves on the Executive Board of the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers, and was the legal advisor to the Law Enforcement Television Network. She is a former police officer. Ms. O’Lynn continues to instruct in unarmed defensive restraint and pressure point control. She works on personal protection assignments worldwide with entertainers and executives. She is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute and a member of the Nine Lives Associates.

Donie O’Callaghan
Chief Operation Officer, REACT Tactical Solutions
Dublin, Ireland

Donie O’Callaghan, who is based in Dublin, has over 35 years experience in the security industry. He was managing director of the Ross Group (one of Ireland security companies in Ireland) and when the company was sold to ADT, Donie was retained as their general manager. He has worked extensively in all areas of security training and was the first person in Ireland to run seminars on Computer Related Fraud, and seminars with the International Association for Hospital Security and the Mosier Anti-Crime Bureau. Mr. O’Callaghan is highly respected as a lecturer and trainer, not only in his home country but also in the UK and this year was appointed to the board of directors for ASET (Academy of Security Educators and Trainers). He is a student of the martial arts.

Mr. Hector R. Torres

Mr. Torres has over 24 years of experience in the field of security at the federal and corporate levels. He is a former US Army Intelligence and Special Operations Officer. Mr. Torres is a graduate of the US Army’s Airborne, Ranger, Special Forces, Military Intelligence and Command and General Staff Schools. He has served as Guest Instructor at the National Intelligence Schools of the Republics of Ecuador and Colombia. Mr. Torres has also served as a Special Agent with the Department of the Army and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Mr. Torres has held security management positions and has worked as a security consultant for various corporations in Puerto Rico. He has served as the President for the Puerto Rico Bankers Association’s Security Committee, Co-founder and Chairman of the San Juan Metro Area Fraud Task Force, Vice President for Certification and Distinguished Fellow of the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers. Mr. Torres currently holds the rank of Lt. Colonel in the Puerto Rico National Guard. He is holds a sixth degree black belt in Isshinryu Karate. Mr. Torres achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Puerto Rico and Masters in Business Administration in Global Management and Human Resources from the University of Phoenix. Currently, Mr. Torres is conducting graduate studies towards a Doctorate degree in Organization and Management from Capella University.

Honorable Michael J. Valentine
Judge, Fairfax County District Court
Fairfax, Virginia

Judge Valentine is a graduate of the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and the American University Law School. He was elected to the Fairfax County District Court in 1980 and is currently the senior judge on the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court. Judge Valentine recently retired as a Special Agent, where he was an accredited Reserve CID agent assigned to the Protective Services Unit of the Headquarter, CID Command, Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. He was assigned as the Special Agent in Charge for the Protective Services Activity in Riyadh and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Judge Valentine is a veteran of more than 50 missions for 5 Secretaries of Defense, 4 Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs, 3 Chiefs of Staff of the Army, 3 Secretaries of the Army and more than 20 foreign counterparts visiting in the U.S. He has served on missions throughout the U.S., China, most South and Central American countries, Europe and the Middle East. As a CID Special Agent, Judge Valentine participated in the M-11 9mm selection team for the U.S. Army, and is an accredited instructor in the SigSauer line of pistols. Judge Valentine lectures on Court Security for judges and deputy sheriffs throughout the U.S., as well as domestic violence response for the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy. Judge Valentine is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute and a member of the Nine Lives Associates. He is a member of the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers and serves on the Board of Directors for the Academy.

Austin C. White
Special Agent
Virginia State Police, Bureau of Criminal Investigation

Agent White has over 20 years service in the field of public safety in a variety of disciplines. With the State Police, he served in the Executive Protective Unit detailed to the Office of the Governor as well as the Bureau of Field Operations where he held the rank of Senior State Trooper. Working out of the Richmond Field Office, he is currently assigned to the Multi-jurisdictional Special Operations Group (MSOG) as the Commonwealth’s representative to that investigative task force. In his dignitary protection role, he was tasked with the protection of the Governor and First Family of Virginia holding the positions of Agent in Charge, shift supervisor, lead advance agent, driver and protection team member. He has performed both protective duties and risk assessments on Presidential and Gubernatorial inaugurations, United States State of the Union speeches, national political conventions and numerous National Governor’s Association annual conferences. Serving 4 Governors, Agent White has had the opportunity and responsibility to coordinate several major events at the White House and the United States Capitol as well as numerous other events with high profile national and international political leaders and celebrities. Agent White also brings experiences from the corporate security sector as he served as the Vice President of Investigations and Special Services with the American Security Group in Richmond, Virginia. In this capacity he coordinated all investigative and executive protection assignments, consulted on security contracts and oversaw the company’s private security academy. A certified Associate Emergency Manager; he is also currently employed as a technical instructor specializing in mass fatality incident response and emergency services coordination for the Virginia Department of Emergency Management. Agent White holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Tech as well as the Advanced Professional Series and Professional Development Series post-graduate certificates from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Emergency Management Institute. Agent White is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute, a member of the Nine Lives Associates and the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers.

Russell J. Wilson

Mr. Wilson holds a BA in Political Science from Columbia University, an MA in National Security Policy from Georgetown University and a J.D. at American University. He speaks Spanish, French and Russian. Before starting his own company, Mr. Wilson served as foreign policy advisor on the European and the Middle East subcommittee for the U.S. Congress. In 1992, he became chief of staff to the Asia and Pacific Affairs subcommittee. In addition to serving as principal foreign policy advisor for these regional areas, Mr. Wilson had additional responsibilities for foreign military sales, arms control issues, terrorism and counter-intelligence policy. In addition to his foreign policy expertise, Mr. Wilson is also a specialist in corporate security issues and lectures regularly on such topics as Violence in the Workplace and how to deal with bomb threats. Mr. Wilson is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute with certification as a Personal Protection Specialist and a member of the board of directors of the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers. He is certified by the American Society for Industrial Security as a Certified Protection Professional and is a member of the Association of Security and Counter-terrorism Professionals and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
