Protection Driving and Skid Control Tactics

Course Description:

This comprehensive course was decades in the making, and is the first to truly join together the disciplines of protection and security driving.

This revolutionary approach will give you a solid foundation in the hard and soft skills necessary for proficient protection driving.

The Pilot Approach

Passengers trust their airline pilots, for good reason. EPI utilizes aviation industry best practices in this training.

As with pilot training, the focus is on developing the key skills essential for safe vehicle operation.

There will be clear explanations of vehicle physics, driver capabilities and environmental challenges to better understand and manage behind the wheel emergencies.

Exercises include multiple braking methods and advanced vehicle operation to master critical driving techniques.

The Professional Driver

This module contains a series of reality-based exercises proven to elevate driver confidence and enhance driving capabilities.

For example, practice of forward and reversing exercises provides the driver with greater control in response to vehicle emergencies.

Students will also get an in-depth analysis on the importance of tires and their proper maintenance.

EP Behind the Wheel

Most evasive/defensive driving programs found in driving schools, security courses and law enforcement academies spend more than 98% of their training focused on preparing for events that occur less than 2% of the time.

Little or no attention is paid to the daily challenges encountered by driving professionals. By contrast, EPI puts a substantial focus on soft skills.

EP Behind the Wheel is client-focused, addressing the reality of normal vehicle operation with a concierge level of driving.

This includes training on etiquette, customer service, tactical communications and route planning.

Students will learn arrival and departure techniques through unique exercises that highlight smooth, controlled navigation as well as precision driving.

The Protection Driving Program (PDP) concludes with a technically advanced and realistic skid control exercise, complemented by a comprehensive and challenging combined skills exercise which replicates all of the previous days of training.

High Tech Driving Techniques, Skid Avoidance and Practical Skid Management

This one-day course will include the basics of skid avoidance and skid control techniques using the EASYDRIFT® Driver Training System (DTS) and hands on skid exercises. Students will utilize DTS through a series of controlled speed exercises and experience the important vehicle control principals that each exercise emphasizes.

Drive home with major key points for proper skid recovery work, and proper cornering techniques. Additionally, we will review vehicle dynamics and driver assist equipment found on newer vehicles. So, if you are interested in Skid Recovery / Avoidance Training, or more advanced technical EVOC Training, EPI's Skid Control Tactics (SCT) experience will make the difference.
